Tidbits / Quotes from the show (sent in from those who attended)

  • Barbra wore the same two outfits she wore in Philly, the sailor dress and the black dress with the gold earrings and gold necklace. She looked absolutely amazing! Loved the outfits!!

  • She said that she heard that here in Ohio you guys have a thing where if I say "OHI", you guys say "O." But, that was wrong, so someone in the audience told her and she figured it out. She then yelled "O-H" and the audience yelled back "I-O."

  • She played "Lost Inside of You" on the piano, at one point messing up, and said "Shit!". That got a lot of laughter.

  • She asked the audience after the first song of Act 2 if we minded if she took off her shoes. Of course, we didn't care. So, the entire 2nd act she was barefoot.

  • She brought Sammie after the encore, and returned once again after the encore (because the audience was going crazy!) and finished with "Smile."

  • She was very loose and comfortable, and very appreciative of the love from the audience.

  • The show was phenomenal and I am still in shock. It's just now hitting me that I saw Barbra Streisand Live. Thank God I have two more shows in NYC to take it all in!

-Thanks to Meagan Day for this wonderful report.

Fan Reviews:

I saw Barbra in Columbus on Friday, October 6th, 2006...PHENOMENAL is the only way to describe it. I wasn't too excited about Il Divo, but when I heard how their voices complemented her voice I knew then why she took them on tour with her; "Somewhere", sung with Il Divo, was an ultimate showstopper. Another highlight was "Don't Rain on My Parade". The crowd was simply in awe of her, and with reason. She proved that she is still the greatest performer, and the best voice, working today. She sang all of her older hits; I believe the only song she sang from 1980 on was "Somewhere", which is actually an original song from the 60's. The set list was simply perfect and showcased her voice beautifully.

The most EXCITING thing about the night for me, however, was when she began to read the questions that audience members had asked her; when you first walk in the concert hall, there was a table where you could write down a question for Barbra. SHE READ MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, my name is Kent Bailey from Lexington, Kentucky, and BARBRA STREISAND said MY NAME ON STAGE....my question was "When are you going to run for President?" I would tell you how she answered, but honestly, I was in such shock and awe that I don't really remember too much of anything after that happened. I sit here still in shock from when I heard her say my name.

I see 6-10 concerts a year and I have done that for 25 years. I don't think another concert could ever possibly top this one; pure perfection.

Hi it is Jeffrey Freedman, arrived back from concert awhile ago about 2:30 am. wow what an evening and adventure....The concert was stellar, she looked fabulous and her voice was flawless, this was the best concert of my life, especially because I was so close. The song selection was amazing, only change from phili...Woman in the moon was not in and after she did Don't Rain on my Parade Reprice, came back with sammy left stage the audience was still going wild and she came back and did "Smile" Absoloutely, flawless. I almost fainted 3 times throughout the concert. I actually fell. She was very relaxed and fun even took her shoes off after the 3rd song in act 2. She was so happy to get those shoes off. This was my first exposure to il-divo they were pretty good, the audience loved them. When they sang with Barbra they were great togehter and the audience went wild...The Bush schtick went over well and after seeing it I feel that it was done in way that was not offensive there were no hecklers, and seemed everyone was laughing at the skit.

While, she was singing smile she asked, when there is the break in the song, if she should do "Stoney End?" Eveyone screamed yes....so after smile we were screaming for her to come back and do Stoney End. She did not, yet I think she will add it for NYC....

Overalll the concert was a masterpiece, and she was flawless I wish I could go to every show. I think in a venue like columbus as opposed to NYC or LA etc. She is more relaxed, not as much pressure from press and critics and no celebs in audience... It was the NIGHT OF MY LIFE......HOPEFULY, I WILL GET TO GO TO ANOTHER SHOW AND HAVE ANOTHER NIGHT OF MY LIFE...

I will, give details about my entire adventure to Columbus with my cousin and details of every aspect of concert tomorrow. I have to go to bed now. I have benup since 5:30 am now 5:05am est so I have to go to bed. Just tell you this, I was so nervous this morning I cut myself right under my lip shaving. and could not eat since yesterday... I finally ate after the concert while we were driving home....

Best To all
Jeffrey Freedman

Barbra was amazing!!!! the anticipation of waiting for her to maker her entrance was nearly unbearable - every time a song in the medley came to an end and we thought she would appear . .. another song in the medley. It really built the excitement in the crowd (and my mom and I nearly fainted, cutting off each others' circulation as we were holding hand so tight). And there she was!!!!!!!!!!!! We were in the third row - dead center. Had you told me anytime before a few weeks ago that I woudl EVER in my lifetime have a chance to see her that close, I would not have thought it possible.

I have never seen her live, but the biggest surprise to me was how relaxed she was. She had her shoes off nearly the entire time, responded to most audience shouts, said "oh sh!t" when she was playing the piano, and really appeared to enjoy herself with "Dubs", as she called the W impersonator.

Her rendition of Children Will Listen brought us to tears - how can she evoke such emotion in every song???!!! Also, The Way We Were - no matter how many times I hear it, nothing could have compare to her live performance of it last night - also a tearjerker (I expected Hubbel to walk on stage so she could fix his hair).

I also enjoyed some unexpected songs - "Have I stayed too long at the fair?; Cockeyed Optimist, to name a few.

My mom most liked Somewhere and Music of the Night with Il Divo (arranged like her Crawford duet). And this from someone who was, um, less than thrilled to hear that Il Divo would be performing with her. She thought their role was just right - not too much of them. And nice compliment to Barbra. I also enjoyed their renditin (alone) of My Way, which they dedicated to Barbra.

When she asked whether she should do Stoney End in the future, I screamed extra hard for all of you who had been hoping.

She looked amazing and sounded fantastic. I will save any more "objective" comments (and I have a few) for a later date because I am still in the afterglow. A night we will never forget.

Have a blast, all of you who still get to savor the anticipation, and here's hoping for a great DVD and CD sometime soon.
