talks to... Caleigh Peters (Barbra's God Daughter)
Here is my small interview with Caleigh Peters. For those who don't know, Caleigh is Barbra's God-daughter. You can see her on the MGM Concert DVD (at 4 years old) and also recently, interviewing Barbra on Extra! Her debut album will be released later this year. BarbraNews will keep you updated on any developments.

A special thanks to Christine Peter's office / Adele for this interview.

First of all, congratulations on your first single, “Reach.”  How did this come about?

Well, I saw some clips of the movie and I got together with Matthew Gerrard, the producer whom Jay Landers put me in touch with and we found this great song and thought that its inspiring message fit the movie perfectly.

Your debut album is coming out later this year, tell us about it…

I’m still working on getting the rest of the tracks done.  I have 3 tracks done right now, “Reach,” “I Won’t Cry” and “Halo.”   The release date will be later this year and the album is about being a teenager today, all the issues you deal with like breaking up with your boyfriend but also striving to make your dreams come true.  Basically, growing up. I want to send a message to teenagers that even though growing up are not always easy, you can always reach for the positive things in your life.  We all have choices.

Is this a bit of fun, or do you want to make a career out of it?

I’m definitely planning on making this a career.  I love to sing and play the guitar and the more I can do that, the better.  I also have an interest in filmmaking and I would still like to attend USC film school.

Can we expect any duets with your Godmother, Barbra Streisand?

That would be amazing, wouldn’t it?  It would be such an honor to do one with her one day.

What does Barbra think of your foray into the world of music?

She has always been very supportive of it.  But she did give me some great advice – Stay Grounded!

Can/Do you act as well?

I’m definitely interested in acting, even though I haven’t done much of that at this time.  I did sign with the William Morris Agency for representation in all areas and they’ve been sending me some really good material.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?

Happy, healthy and making music!

Thanks for your time Caleigh, and Good Luck!

Caleigh's song, Reach, is on the soundtrack for the new Disney movie, Ice Princess?
