Forthcoming! Barbra auction / New Store

Save your money, buy
an airline ticket to LA and get ready for a once in a lifetime
event. Barbra is cleaning house...really cleaning house. She will
be selling off over 400 lots of costumes, gowns and clothing in
which she has been well photographed. It will be a spectacular
event for Barbra collectors and fans. . The items will be on
display at the Pacific Design Center at the Astra Restaurant for a
week or two preceding the live auction. Come see the items and
have a delightful lunch at Astra. You can dine in their spacious
dining room ( which will feature a few of my international movie
posters during the auction promotion) or on the rooftop. You are
also invited to view a special photo exhibit from Annie Liebowitz(
at no charge ). The exhibit is adjacent to Astra's roof top dining
.
The auction,
produced by Darren Jullien will be Sunday June 5 , 2004 .
A beautuful catalogue will be available for purchase soon. I will
keep you all posted . Please feel free to refer this to anyone I
may have unintentionally missed as I am using my California
computer address files which are not complete!

For those of you who
are in the area or plan on staying in the area for a longer visit,
you may want to schedule a trip to Palm Springs where I will be
opening up a Barbra Shop in the Barber Shop at 303 East Arenas.
I get a special thrill each time I hear a total stranger who" is
in the know," explaining to another total stranger that my shop
(which is now closed for remodeling...and attracting a lot of
local interest ) will be a "Bar-BER Shop by day and a Bar-BRA
Shop by night." Although the major pieces will be displayed at
all times, the barber shop will close at 5:00 daily and reopen at
6:00 as The Barbra Shop. Yes indeed, my "Mirrors have Two Faces."
The shop will
feature many international movie, record and TV promotional
posters from my forty plus years of collecting BARBRA . Most
posters,as well as some memorabilia will be for sale . I am
planning a large Grand Opening on April 24th, even though the shop
will be open in late March . Come by to browse, visit with me or
buy. I have waited a lifetime for this opportunity to share my
collection on a relatively permanent basis. Some of you saw most
of the items that will be on display when you attended my Caucus
Club Gala to commemorate Barbra's 60th Birthday.
Additionally, I want
to start a Barbra Collectors Club for serious collectors. We will
plan exhibits worldwide, for special fund raising events and
benefits in the future years. If you are interested in joining the
club...please email me directly. I am working out details now.
Please feel free to share any ideas regarding this club directly
with me. I am especially interested in registering all who have
purchased her gowns ,and personal items as well as significantly
meaningful memorabilia...as they will make wonderful future
exhibits for special events. I am driven to someday to feature
our items as a Smithsonian exhibit. I also want to publish a
Complete Collectors Guide containing photos of most of the
collectibles...if not all of them. I will need a lot of help and
co -authors for this labor of love!
