HALF OF STREISAND'S ALBUMS NOW PLATINUM, AS "MOVIE ALBUM" IS CERTIFIED AS HER 30TH

Barbra Streisand's hit 60th Album, "The Movie Album" has been certified platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America,) her 30th platinum record. The distinction has now been conferred on half of her releases, and it extends her wide leadership in platinum accreditation by a female performer. She is, similarly, with 49 gold records, the substantial leader among female artists. Only Elvis Presley has been awarded more gold certifications. Released on the Columbia label, "The Movie Album," is comprised of 12 recordings, live with full orchestra, of selections she had never covered on any previous CDs.
 

Ed note: Despite Barbra's website claiming that TMA is her '30th' Platinum record, it's actually her '31st'.
